Mr. Ralf Huebner, born in 1959, studied East Asian Affairs,
history and foreign policy at Berlin Humboldt University and Peking
University. After graduation he joined the diplomatic service. During
his assignment as consul in Shanghai he witnessed in the second
half of the 1980`ies the city’s attempts to recover its status as
Asian Pacific business and financial center.
Since 1991 he has been working in positions covering China and East
Asia in the private economy. As Vice Chairman or Deputy General
Manager in German - Chinese joint ventures and German affiliated
companies in China in the manufacturing industry he collected rich
experiences. During these years he did not only experience China
from developed places like Peking, Shanghai, the booming Pearl River
delta or Tianjin, but also from the work in the far remote South
West hinterland in Sichuan.
Beginning from the end of 1997 he set up the Shanghai office and
the China business for Dr. Berndt & Partner GmbH Consultants. During
implementation of search assignments he very successfully placed
local and expatriate candidates in positions on the first and second
management level. His clients comprised mainly European medium sized
as well as public listed companies.
In October 2000 he decided to set up an own executive search firm
in Shanghai. The approaches of Huebner Management Consulting Shanghai
Co., Ltd. include essentials like strategic presence in China, deep
knowledge and long term commitment to the Chinese market and very
high client focused service tailored according to the requirements
of international clients.
In July 2002 he founded another company, Hübner Consulting GmbH
(Ltd.) in Germany. This firm focuses on the executive search market
in Germany and at the same time assists the Shanghai company in
marketing its services in Europe.
